The job application requires you to design a cereal box for a

new product they want to sell. 

If yours is the best design you will be hired and given a $5000.00 sign-on bonus.

Your design for the cereal box can target any audience that you choose.

      Your task: 

Design a cereal box for a specific audience of your choice for the president of the company.

Create an actual prototype of your design, which should visually explain why your cereal box design should be chosen and marketed.

Your design and choice of media must be pre-approved by your teacher.

  • About professional advertising and design techniques, composition and the elements of art.
  • How to design an effective logo for their cereal box.
  • How advertisers design assorted cereal boxes related to the type of consumer that will be purchasing the cereal or based on a theme.
  • How to work out and present their cereal box design using  the computer as a design tool.
  • How to actually create the product design piece “cereal” box three dimensionally using assorted media.

Assignment

  • Work must be an average cereal box size.
  • Any style of lettering that has artistic integrity can be used. Students should pick a style from the assorted calligraphy books or computer fonts and samples in the classroom.
  • Work must be creative in nature and a pre-design should be done on the computer or sketchbook as well as the actual product design piece.
  • Design must be teacher pre-approved.
  • Work must have a visual theme.
  • There must be image, text and logo combined within the piece.
  • Work must show craftsmanship, artistic integrity and skill.
